the Notting Hill Carnival

Held each August Bank Holiday since 1996, the Notting Hill Carnival is the largest festival celebration of its kind of Europe. Every year te streets of West London come alive, with the sounds and the smells of Europe biggest street festival. Twenty miles of vibrant colourful costmes surround ovr 40 static sound systems, hundreds of Caribbean food stalls, over 40,000 volunteers and over 1 million Notting Hill Carnival revellers.
Starting its liveas a local festival set up by the West Indian community of the Notting Hill area, it has now become a full-blooded Caribbean Carnival, attracting million of visitors fom all over the globe. With many astinishing floatsand the sounds of the traditional steel drums band, scores of massive sound systems plus not forgetting the hundreds of stalls that line the street of Notting Hill. The Notting Hill Carnival is arguably London's most exciting annual event.

7 hours!!!!

I did the longest trip from Manchester to London,....
Actually I just need around 5 hours from Manchester coach station to London Victoria coach station but it was totally different...
that was clear on my ticket, I would departure at 16.45 from Manchester coach station... n I came to the place 15 minutes before, but unfortunately, i didn't see 540 coach..., It was good for me because I would be able to choose my favorite seat.. :)
but everything changed whereas one of national express staff told our bus had something problem n we would do our trip by 2 mini buses that don't provide toilet n we would seat really close each other.. hufff... that made almost the passengers angry because we had paid the fare n we deserved to get good services...
but in my mind, i just wanted to go to London as soon as possible...
Finally, we went to London but we had to transit to Birmingham first, and changed the vehicle with proper coach in there..
n it was my longest trip from Manchester to London, I spent around 7 hours on the trip......

weekend come!!!! :D
After studying hard 5 days,... finishing my weekday,... The best way to spend my time in the weekend is playing football...
Usually, I work every morning on Saturday but I didn't work this morning.... that means, I could got up late.. hohoho
at 10 am, I went to POWER LEAGUE...
POWER LEAGUE is 5 a side pitch with artificial grass as like as futsal/indoor pitch in Indonesia.. I would play football with my friends... Not only Student from UoM, but also student from MMU and other colleges around Manchester,..
Unfortunately, we only got only players this week., normally we have 15 - 20 players..
Some rules are different in 5 a side game, for instance, the players cannot get into the circle area which is only a keeper can enter that area... so strange for me to adopt that rule!!!!
we played 3 hours today, n then we must paid 3 ponds each for this pitch in the end... seems similar in Indonesia, we pay everything together,..
The game was interesting, all the players played well this morning.. I enjoyed it!!! :)

Superstore or Traditional Market

Hi everyone..., how r u all??
n my dearness Riani Rilanda... hoping my pray always with u darl....

Actually, I used to purchase things in traditional market... as we know.,. the price is cheaper!!!hehe
But, yesterday,. I decided to bought my items in the superstore "TESCO"..
Why?? although TESCO is far from my house, Shopping in TESCO much more pleasant than in traditional market.... Not only because of its a big store, but also sometimes we can get special offer for some items... n I got it for juice and chocolate as well.... :D

n there are all my items :

• exotic juice (2 items)
• fresh milk
• chicken legs
• lamp boneless
• baby romaine
• salad
• choclate (2 items)

for all of them,. i only paid 8.59 ponds... :D
another think why shopping in the TESCO is more comfortable is because we don't have to wait the queue,. I did the payment by myself (the new one system of payment that we don't have in Indonesia)

that is my story,.
n how is your experience?? which one do you prefer, superstore or traditional market???

My goal

Yesterday i went to Old Trafford and watched soccer aid which is a friendly match between celebrities and football legends such as Robbie Williams, Zinadine Zidane, Luis Figo, etc.
Damn!!!!! I want to continue my blog about TOUR MU,.... I have new stories to share..., but i can't share in my blog now.....

Yup..., I have to focus on my ielts exam will be held in last June!!!!!

I've been living in manchester since 1 month ago.....
left my family, friends and my beloved girl Riani Rilanda...., is it easy? yes, it is easy in the first month...., but it is so really....really hard in the second month.
I miss my family, my home, laugh with my friends......
and i lose many times with my girl to see each other grow...., lose many moments when we feel up or down...,
It's not easy for me, but i will do my best....
I'll always with you....

TOUR MU 1

'MANCHESTER UNITED'

glory.... glory..... man.. united........!!!!

Kalimat inilah yang selalu saya denger atau baca di status facebook, atau ym temen2 saya disaat MU menang atau mungkin juara premier league, champion league dan gelar-gelar lainnya yang udah mereka raih. Bisa dibilang MU adalah club besar selama beberapa dekade terakhir ini, siapa yang ngga tau MU???

But, I'm not united!!! I'm MILANISTI..... :)

Mungkin weekend ini uda mulai summer, panas banget udara di Manchester... mungkin sampe 24 derajat Celcius.... Wuiiwww!!!!
Kayaknya ngga ada orang yang mau stay di rumah.. kebanyakan orang mutusin untuk hang out di luar dan saya memutuskan untuk pergi ke old trafford......
Keputusan yang tepat atau tdak?????

OUTSIDE THE STADIUM

Tampak depan stadion kebanggaan fans MU OLD TRAFFORD 'THE THEATRE OF DREAM' yang terletak di kota Stretford, Trafford, Greater Manchester. Nggak butuh waktu lama untuk nyampe ke stadion ini dari rumah tempat saya tinggal, mungkin cuma 5 menitan dengan sepeda.

Pertanyaannya adalah kenapa kosong dan sepi? Padahal ini hari sabtu yang biasanya semua fans MU tumplek blek di area ini....
Yup., Premier League uda selesai, ngga ada pertandingan hari ini yang ada hanya orang-orang yang mau foto-foto dan tour ke stadium ini.... SALAH SATUNYA SAYA!!! :D


Tapi mungkin ini bukan main entrance stadion ini,.. karena kalau kita masuk dari area ini yang akan kita temuin adalah store MU, dimana kita bisa beli jersey dan segala marchendise yang berlambangkan MU...


The United Trinity : Bobby Charlton, Denis Law dan George Best... 3 nama ex-pemain MU yang pasti punya arti besar buat tim ini.
Saat pertama kali nyampe ke old trafford dan melihat patung ini, langsung mengingatakan sebuah cerita dari Moa (temen saya) mengenai arti huruf 'J' yang ditunjukan patung Denis Law'....
yup..... J!!!! ... JACKMANIA..... sounds familiar...
kata Moa si doi salah satu pendiri THE JACK atau lebih kita kenal dengan PERSIJA.... tapi saya merasa dibohongi kayaknya...

Jeprat sini.. jepret sana di area luar kayaknya uda kelar, saatnya saya masuk ke dalam stadion. Saya masuk dari NORTH STAND AREA untuk membeli tiket masuk museum & tour old trafford. Buat pelajar lumayan murah lah untuk ngedapetin tiket ini cukup nunjukin kartu pelajar saya mendapatkan harga 7.5 ponds, karena harga sebenarnya adalah 12.5 ponds.

Sebelumnya, saya melewati beberapa booth, nggak tau pasti si kegunaan booth itu apa??? Tapi mungkin ini tempat penjualan tiket pertandingan pada saat hari H MU bertanding di old trafford.

Kondisi stadionnya lumayan bersih, ngga keliatan sampah dimana2...
dan yang terpenting pencahayaannya.., menurut saya pas banget sekali; nyaman dan kerasa banget kalo saya lagi berada di stadion besar yang punya prestasi hebat... two thumps up!!!!

Munich 1958 adalah sejarah tragis tim ini... Yup.., 7 pemain MU meninggal seketika, 1 pemain meninggal di rumah sakit serta 15 penumpang lainnya termasuk wartawan dan official tim ini pada saat kecelakaan pesawat yang membawa mereka dari munich..
Semua berita mengenai Munich 1958 terangkum dengan apik dan cantik di area ini.. EAST STAND AREA
Ini step terakhir yang saya kunjungi di area luar stadion old trafford, sebentar lagi saya akan masuk ke dalam... Tempat dimana tropi juara MU dipasang megah, ruang tunggu pemain dan keluarga sebelum pertandingan dimulai, ruang ganti pemain dimana fergie menginstruksikan taktik, pers conference area dan tentunya rumput hijau megah dikelilingi seluruh warna merah tempat para fans mendukung tim ini...
